Africa Safari Photos

My wife and I have been editing a series of photos we took on Safari in Botswana last year.  We wanted to give the images an antique look.

Folks in St. Augustine, Fl.

St. Augustine was founded forty-two years before the English colony at Jamestown, Virginia, and fifty-five years before the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts - making it the oldest permanent European settlement on the North American continent. For many years it was a Spanish garrison, protecting ships moving up the coast from pirate attacks.

It is a sweet coastal city in northern Florida, which is a major tourist attraction. While visiting, I found three more local folks to focus on with my camera.

Rebuilding Antique Model A Fords

A few years ago my wife and I met two wonderful couples on a barge cruise in Bordeaux.  They were active in the Canejo Valley (California) Model A Ford Club.  When we all returned home, I had a chance to spend time with members of the club and to fawn over their cars.  I also had a chance to visit, and take photos (below),  at one of the automotive repair shops which specialize rebuilding these wonderful machines - H&H Automotive Engine Repair in La Crescenta.

What People Do With The American Flag

This is a work in progress.  For several years, I have been photographing the American flag as displayed in both traditional, and non-traditional-some even say abusive-ways.  In addition, I have shot images of various ways in which people have chosen to dipict elements of the flag-stars, stripes, color.

This is what I have seen.  I make no judgment; I take no side.  What some people do with the flag, or its elements, may be their way of showing love of country or support for our troops.  For others, it may be their expression of art.
